Carolyn – Breast Cancer
When Carolyn was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, she didn’t think about herself – she thought only of the impact this would have on her children, her wider family, and her students. Her radiation oncologist recommended she consider proton therapy at ProCure. Proton therapy, she learned, offers much safer outcomes compared to standard radiation in terms of side effects and damage to surrounding healthy organs.
Dawn – Breast Cancer
Expecting a routine visit, Dawn was shocked to learn that she had hormone positive, stage 3 breast cancer. Dawn knew that she had to do whatever was necessary to watch her children grow up, visiting many specialists before settling on the right treatment plan. Because Dawn’s mother had suffered a heart attack in her early 60s, Dawn elected to undergo proton therapy to spare her heart from radiation exposure.
