GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Information System Clinical Application Specialist supports the various business, clinical and imaging systems in the center by implementing the systems, troubleshooting and resolving problems. The Clinical Apps Specialist is responsible for a fundamental understanding of the EMR/clinical/imaging systems and processes being supported, and understanding of the available technology and technical infrastructure necessary to support the applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide functional and technical application support, including requirements analysis, application design, program code, testing and implementation for clinical systems
• Troubleshoots connectivity/interface issues between clinical/financial/administrative systems
• Troubleshoots and resolves user application problems
• Acts as center of expertise for ProCure staff to leverage clinical systems to meet patient care/research goals
• Collaborate with ProCure medical physics management and staff to build, enhance, maintain appropriate systems
• Research, design and build interfaces between ProCure clinical systems, as well as between ProCure systems and partner clinical systems
• Document system functions and processes for the IT group, as well as selected items for other users
• Assists in security maintenance of the confidential ProCure/patient data
• Collaborate with other IS staff in developing/implementing related applications and interfacing to other ProCure applications and systems
• Develop and execute testing plans as needed to ensure stability of production environment
• Plan and implement upgrades, bug fixes, etc. as needed
• Acts as liaison to partner hospital to coordinate system access, upgrades, capacity planning, DR, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience designing, implementing, interfacing and supporting clinical and imaging applications, as well as general information technology applications and systems required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Strong knowledge/experience managing clinical information systems (Mosaiq experience preferred)
• Knowledge/experience working with and managing PACS/imaging systems
• Knowledge of DICOM and other appropriate standards preferred
• Strong knowledge/experience building interfaces between systems, and experience with interface engines
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems
• Knowledge of web-based applications and web technologies
• Knowledge of radiation treatment planning systems preferred
• Relational database and query tool experience preferred
• Experience working in a healthcare environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent customer service skills

EDUCATION/DEGREE
• BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Training and certifications in clinical information/imaging systems and appropriate technology platforms preferred

OTHER
• ProCure utilizes RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) tags at the centers for the purposes of analysis of productivity and patient throughput. This information is not for use as a management tool for employee performance issues.
