Developing Centers
INNOVATION - FROM CONCEPT TO OPENING
Proton therapy provides a powerful tool for treating cancer. Because of the complexity of developing a center, few have been built. Proton therapy centers are capital intensive, and building and operating them requires expertise not required in most healthcare organizations. ProCure's successful model incorporates significant innovations, from the way we finance the centers to the design of equipment and treatment rooms, to the affiliations we form with local physician groups and hospitals. Our model improves efficiency and dramatically reduces the time and costs associated with developing a center. The ProCure Proton Therapy Center in Oklahoma City opened 27 months after groundbreaking – 9 months faster than any other proton therapy center in the United States at the time. The centers in suburban Chicago and in New Jersey/Metro New York subsequently broke ProCure’s own record by 3 months: 24 months from groundbreaking to first patient.
ProCure is the only proton therapy company in the world with three proton therapy centers open, one under construction, and two in development and has the only Training and Development Center (TDC) dedicated to proton therapy.
