Proton Center News Room
ProCure and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), along with its founding partners – Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Medicine, and Seattle Children’s Hospital – are collaborating on the development of the first proton therapy center in the state of Washington. The proton center will be located on the campus of Northwest Hospital & Medical Center. The center broke ground in January 2011. We expect to begin treating patients in Spring 2013.
Proton therapy is a powerful and effective treatment for certain types of cancer tumors as well as for some non-cancerous tumors.
