The world's first treatment room to use inclined beam technology opened in March 2010 at the ProCure Proton Therapy Center in Oklahoma City. The inclined beam technology contains two treatment beams: one horizontal and one 60 degrees inclined from the horizontal. The inclined beam technology can treat 70 percent of tumors using the industry standard gantry, but in a space half the size. Photo taken at the ProCure Proton Therapy Center in Oklahoma City.

The fixed-beam system features a horizontal beam and is, as its name indicates, fixed in place. It is capable of treating a large percentage of the cancers that proton therapy is indicated for. Even though the actual delivery system can't move, the precision and efficacy of the therapy is the same as with the inclined beam and the gantry. ProCure Treatment Centers, Inc. and Ion Beam Applications (IBA) received FDA clearance of a new generation patient positioning system, designed by ProCure. The robotic system is designed for positioning patients for proton therapy.

The 220-ton cyclotron is 18-feet in diameter and 8-feet high.
